Integrating a Perl program as a preprocessor.

Parameterization of input curves presents an application of integrating a Perl program as a preprocessor.

The LS-OPT setup specifying the Perl program as a preprocessor  with the command and input file is shown in the Figure below.

The parameters are specified in the input file using the LS-OPT parameter format << >> :

<<x1>> <<y1>>
<<x2>> <<y2>>
0.8 <<y3>>

The output of the Perl program can then be used as an input for the LS-DYNA (or any other User-Defined-Solver) step. Select the Run Jobs in Directory of Stage option, or define a File Transfer to make the Perl output available for the solver.
